One, two or four sessions a week. Four sessions add up to about six hours of soccer weekly.
Barrhaven is one of Ottawa's busiest youth-sports neighbourhoods, and training on Rouncey Rd is about a quarter of an hour away without using the Queensway.
About 16 minutes / 12.9 km from central Barrhaven to our training base on Rouncey Rd in Kanata, calculated with OSRM on OpenStreetMap data without traffic. Allow extra time at rush hour and in winter.
Head west on Fallowfield Road, turn north onto Eagleson Road and finish on Terry Fox Drive. Because it is all arterial roads, the trip is more predictable than the highway at rush hour.
The Jock River runs through Barrhaven, and Fallowfield Road is the quickest way west toward Kanata.
Manotick and Kemptville families come up through Fallowfield Road too, so Barrhaven makes a natural pick-up point. Our carpooling guide has route groups and ground rules.
