Almonte families are used to good sports stories: the town is the birthplace of James Naismith, who invented basketball. For soccer, training on Rouncey Rd is about half an hour east.
About 31 minutes / 33.1 km from central Almonte to our training base on Rouncey Rd in Kanata, calculated with OSRM on OpenStreetMap data without traffic. Allow extra time at rush hour and in winter.
From downtown take Ottawa Street to March Road, follow it east to Hwy 417, then exit at Terry Fox Drive and drive south to Rouncey Rd.
The Mississippi River falls in downtown Almonte are the natural meeting point if you are organising a carpool from town.
Appleton and Pakenham families are close by, and Pakenham families join the same Hwy 417. Our carpooling guide has route groups and ground rules.
